Join tables on fields that don't match exactly

I'm trying to join multiple tables on fields that don't fully match.

      Data source: SQL database

      Tableau Version: 10.5

      Table A field: 123456

      Table B field: 123456

Join both to table C: this table distinguishes whether source is Table A or Table B with a prefix on the field, e.g. A123456 or B123456

Is there a way to tell Tableau to use Table A when Table C's field starts with A and use table B when Table C's field starts with B?
