Parameter (No Auto Refresh For List), Need Alternative

    Manveen Dharni

      Hi,

Does anyone have an alternative for a date parameter to compare quantity and create a variance for two different string dates.

      Problem:

I have one date field that is used as a string called Snapshot Month Name

      Example: 2018-10 (Oct)

I have created two parameters from that filed (Add from field "Snapshot Month Name") and created a list as seen below:

           Select Snapshot Month 1

           Select Snapshot Month 2

Than I have created 2 calculated field that gets the quantity for a month.

Qty Greater Than CM 0 Selection 1

Qty Greater Than CM 0 Selection 2

Now that I have two calculated field, I then create another calculation that uses the parameter to get the correct month data.

           Snapshot Selection 1

           Snapshot Selection 2

What the report would show is a variance for the selected two months.

The problem I am facing with is that parameter list is a static list and every month end, a new month is added. However, the parameter does not update the list. Is there an alternative to this?

      Any help is greatly appreciated.

      Thanks,

      MD

Starting in version 2018.3, we have a feature called Set Actions that will automatically refresh the list.

And the set can work just like a parameter. (And can do more -- such as multi-select.)

So for now, update manually until you can upgrade to 2018.3.
