Thanks for the info Deepak. Its a live connection data source with the lots of measures and calculation fields. Is there any other viable solution to resolve this scenario.
You could do it with parameters where parameter would act as filter selection for 'Planned' and 'Total', but you would only show either 'Planned' or 'Total' each time as parameter won't allow multi-select. Does this work?
Create a parameter with values as 'Planned' and 'Total'
Then you could create a calculated field as
([Parameter 3]='Planned' AND ([Category]='Furniture' or [Category]='Office Supplies'))
([Parameter 3]='Total' AND ([Category]='Furniture' or [Category]='Office Supplies' or [Category]='Technology'))
Throw this calculated field into quick filter and select TRUE. Use parameter to flip between 'Total' and 'Planned'.
