I am trying to create a flow to restructure and analyze a text file I have been sent. The file has ~| as a delimiter, and from what I can find Prep only allows a single delimiter.
Is there a way to work in a second delimiter? or am I stuck having to use ~ and then create a step that "splits" each column by | then deleting the original data and keeping the new split fields?
I'm just worried about losing/changing data in the three steps, where I'd be more confident using the double delimiter.
Any help would be great! If there is no solution, other than the three steps, I'll file this as a suggestion instead of a question.
Prep only allows a single character as a delimiter currently. I think you'll need to use either ~ or | as your delimiter. That will leave the other character in your data. You'd then need to clean out that extra character using either a split or a replace function.
