Hi ! I apologize if this is a repeat thread but I didn't find it in searching.
We want to start allowing users with Desktop to access our data sources. I'm curious if anyone out there does that now and can tell me their process, lessons learned, etc. We do not allow anyone to save on our server with a web edit right now. I know we need to have data documentation in place, look at certifying the data sources, training, etc.
Any feedback on what works and what doesn't is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
This is a common scenario. I'd suggest watching Paul Banoub's session from the recent Tableau Conference. In it, he talks all about things related to this topic: UBS | Tips for building a scalable enterprise deployment of Tableau - YouTube
