Tableau has both a count and count distinct function available.
But not for all live data sources.
In cases where you cannot use COUNTD then use WINDOW_SUM.

CountD is available in tableau but in case you're not able to use it like in blending then check this link.

CountD will provide a count of distinct values in a field. A Window_Sum is a table calculation. This are not at all alike.

Hi Tim, you wrote previously in this thread that WINDOW_SUM can be used in place of COUNTD. I didn't understand that at the time either. Can you correct or delete that comment?
