    Command Line Tableau Prep Refresh fails

    Caroline Poyurs

      I have a tableau prep file which:

      uses connects to a single Oracle database, then uses that connections multiple times

      connects to multiple different local files (local = folder in which the prep file is stored)

      connects to three different files on the same shared network.

      My jsn file is like this:

      {

      "inputConnections":[

        {

          "username": "<NAME1>",

          "hostname":"<HOST_NAME1>",

          "port":1521,

      "service name": "NDC",

      "password": "<PASSWORD1>"

        },

        {

          "username": "<NAME2>",

          "hostname":"<HOST_NAME2>",

      "password": "<PASSWORD1>"

        },

        {

          "username": "<NAME2>",

          "hostname":"<HOST_NAME2>",

      "password": "<PASSWORD1>"

        },

        {

          "username": "<NAME2>",

          "hostname":"<HOST_NAME2>",

      "password": "<PASSWORD1>"

        }

      ],

      "outputConnections":[

        {

          "serverUrl":"<MYDASHBOARD>",

          "contentUrl":"",

          "username":"<NAME3>"

          "password":"<PASSWORD3>"

        }

      ]

      }

      Note the three input connections to the shared netwrok (not sure if this is ok or not..)

      When I run the  tableau-prep-cli.bat file with this commend:

      tableau-prep-cli.bat -c "<UNC path for JSON file>" -d -t "<UNC PATH FOR TABLEAU PREP FILE>"

      I get:

      JAVA_HOME is set to : C:\Program Files\Tableau\Tableau Prep 2018.2\scripts\..\Plugins\jre temporarily

      Unable to read the connections file.

      I am using Tableau Prep 2018.2.2

      Any help would be appreciated
