Extract option starts the extraction process where you can save your live data on local machine. Refresh option is used to refresh your extracted data.
Hope this clears your doubt.
Very first time when you do extract then you use extract and once you click on extract, It extract all data from your data source which is available at the time of extract.
But In Refresh, You have already extracted the data source and then few new column or row added later. Then you can use refresh to get extended data.
Please let me know if you have more question on this.
Please mark correct and helpful if it works for you
"Extract option starts the extraction process where you can save your live data on local machine." Does that mean it will create new extract file?
All my data sources are checked with "Use Extract" So they are using the extracted data and not live connection data.
"Refresh option is used to refresh your extracted data." Does it mean it will refresh the existing extracted data? It will add new data if it finds?
So I've 5 data sources and all uses extracted data, with check option "Use Extract"
This workbook was created in version 10.3
I'm trying to upgrade extract first to make it HYPER format and then trying to refresh it to get new data.
For this scenario What option should I use, "Extract Data" or "Refresh"
Please remove extract and then extract again to make it hyper.
Refresh will not make it hyper but you'll have to extract it again.
