COUNT(IF ***="Male" THEN Number of Records END)
COUNT(IF ***="Female" THEN Number of Records END)
if nothing works, attach a sample Workbook
Thanks for responding, i tried the code to this but it gave me an error as below
IF[Gender]=="M" THEN [Number of Records]
COUNT(IF [Gender]=="F" THEN [Number of Records] END)
1. Its say syntax error.
So i omitted the second part and just did the first part, it only gave me a count of individual records, which is technically the same as number of records rather than a summary of the count. I am working on tableau desktop though.
What i am actually trying to do is to tie the count to the filter gender, so when i query the "M" it give me all the "M"'s with the summary of "M"s also the "F"s
What I gave you was to put in separately. Anyways, please create some sample and i can help you.
I have dimensions :
DATE, GENDER, NAME, STUDY ID, MEASURE NAME
I have MEASURES
AGE, AGE IN DAYS, NUMBER OF RECORDS, MEASURE VALUES,
I have placed NAME , GENDER in rows, AGE in columns
GENDER has been placed in the filter and the filter shown as GENDER (ALL, F, M)
We have a distribution of age so i want to use the filter to find like male and get their total, so does females and their totals.
this is simple..I would suggest you create some sample workbook and post.
How do i attach a work flow here?
I am not on tableau Prep , i am on tableau desktop how do i attach a workflow?
