Showing values when filter/Pages Mark is null?

    Tram Le-Nguyen

      Hi,

I assume this is similar showing null values in the filter without having the null option available for the user. I have a date time variable for a single measure my chart, but when that value is null it filters out the rest of the measures. For example my data looks like this:

      DateTimeAB
      1-May1.7721
      2-May-3.2751
      3-May2.08451
      1-May1.9442
      2-May-2.9472
      3-May1.6162
      3
      4
      5

I want to be able to use DateTime in the Pages Mark so I can view the changes in the A values without losing the values in the B Column when DateTime is null.

      What I've done so far:

I have Alteryx so I can manipulate the data before it goes into Tableau so I made the table look like this before going into Tableau:

      DateTimeAB
      1-May1.7721
      2-May-3.2751
      3-May2.08451
      1-May1.9442
      2-May-2.9472
      3-May1.6162

      1-May

      3
      2-May3
      3-May3
      1-May4
      2-May4
      3-May4
      1-May5
      2-May5
      3-May5

My problem with this solution is that it makes my file ridiculously large (I have over 1000 DateTime values and over 10000 B values), and the workbook is performing poorly.

Is there another way to achieve this effect in Tableau?

In the attachment is a Workbook with some dummy data. The Current Solution Tab is what I currently have, but has poor performance when I use all of my data.

      Tableau Desktop 2018.1.2

      Thank you!
