After migration to 2018.2 we have problem with connection to Hive datasource on Server.
Unable to connect to the ODBC Data Source. Check that the necessary drivers are installed and that the connection properties are valid.
[Hortonworks][Hardy] (34) Error from server: SASL(-1): generic failure: Failed to initialize security context: The specified target is unknown or unreachable
Unable to connect to the server "xxxxxxx". Check that the server is running and that you have access privileges to the requested database.
Everything was fine in 10.5
Connection is made using kerberos and Hortonworks Hive ODBC Driver (newest version).
When I check with process monitor, tableau server is not accessing kerberos ticket cache file.
Running Tableau Desktop on host where Server is installed, connection is working.
I would verify the configuration and setup of the kerberos.
I also found this information on the error being returned.
