      Hi,

I am trying to connect to Microsoft SQL Server from Tableau Online and I am getting the below error message:

Can’t connect to Microsoft SQL Server

      Detailed Error Message

[Microsoft][ODBC Driver 13 for SQL Server]Named Pipes Provider: Could not open a connection to SQL Server [53].

      Troubleshooting steps:

      1. This article "Login timeout expired" Error When Refreshing Extract | Tableau Software mentioned

      • If the computer running Microsoft SQL Server uses the Named Pipes client protocol, configure Microsoft SQL Server to use TCP/IP instead. - In my case we have both protocols enabled.

      2. Tried using IP address vs DNS name

Would appreciate if someone can point me in the right direction or material.

      Janaki
