How to color specific bars to highlight

    Alex Martino

Hello. I have bars. Is there a way I can color one or two of the bars (they represent categories).

          Hi Alex,

As per my understanding you wants to color the bar charts on the view.

Please find the screenshot below: To color the bars you need to place Category on Color in Marks shelf

If you want to edit default color you can simply click on Color Icon on Marks shelf and choose Edit Colors.

            Hi Alex,

In order to color your Bar, you will simply need your dimension to be dragged and placed over the Color field in Marks Shelf.

            • When you drop a discrete field on Color in the Marks card, Tableau displays a categorical palette and assigns a color to each value of the field.
            • When you drop a continuous field on Color, Tableau displays a quantitative legend with a continuous range of colors.

Check this Link for better understanding.
