Personally I'd prep the data set upfront before you get it into Tableau so that it has the data set duplicated and a single issue column. It will make life a lot easier in the long run. Is that an option for you?
If you are not able to reshape the data in the way that Rob suggests, you could create calculated fields to do the counting. However, this will only be practical if there are only a few different issue types.
The calculation for a field called ServerCount would be:
IF [first_issues] = "server" AND [Second issue] = "server" THEN 2
ELSEIF [first_issues] = "server" OR [Second issue] = "server" THEN 1
You could do the same for network and connection. Obviously this will get out of control very quickly if there are many different issues - in which case you really should consider reshaping the data as Rob has suggested.
I dont how to use prep but any idea what logic should i use so that i could create perfect data
