Filled Map option is not present

    Bhumika Bhandari

      Hello Everyone,

I am new to Tableau and wanted to know how can I get my Filled Map option? I have tried to put:

      in column: Longitude

      in row: Latitude

      measure: AVG Rating

I have created a normal map but I want to try the filled map. How can I do that?

      Any help would be appreciated!

      Thanks,

      Bhumika

Because you're using your own lat/long data you have "points" - as in the exact point of the data.

To use a filled map you'll need a polygon, so maybe State or County ?

You will need to add that to your data. Tableau understands States, so if you had a State field and a value for each point then you could use a filled map.

If you want smaller polygons, you might have to add a polygon file as well so Tableau understands that.

            Hi Bhumika,

If you want a filled map by state that changes the color based on a count of some field, you need to drag State to the detail pill, and the CNT field to Color.
