Have you tried restarting tableau desktop? It should load once you open it.
Try changing "Preferences" to all lower case, "preferences". Do this in both the opening and closing tags.
<color-palette name="Classic Red-Green" type = "ordered-diverging">
Yes I did.
I tried doing what you just suggest but it is still not loading to tableau.
Interesting. It wasn't working for me with your original file, but worked after making that change (tested in 10.5). Can you include your preferences file as an attachment instead of copying into the text of your message? The website will turn it into HTML and it does some weird stuff with it, so we may be missing something.
Yes, I am placing continuous value.:(
Is there a way i can use this color for continuous ?
It will only work for continuous, so if that's what you're using it should be fine. A couple of questions:
1) Are you able to share an anonymized copy of your workbook? If so, can you please attach a packaged workbook?
2) If you can't share your workbook, can you try to replicate the issue using another data source, such as superstore, and attach that?
Hi Pearl, wondering if you might have misnamed the file or put it in the wrong place. What's the full pathname that you used for the file?
Thanks for all your help. I finally found the issue.
Are you able to share some details, in case others have the same problem in the future?
I replaced my preferences file.
