# How can I select a certain group of customers to see their evolution?

Hi,

I am currently working in a project where I can see all the sales made by some stores. I have the ID of every customer, number of total transaction and number of times they visited the stores for the entire year of 2017.

What I want to do is to select the customers of July and follow their evolution for the rest of the year so I can see how many transactions those customers and only those customers made in the rest of the months as well as how many times they visited the stores on each month.

I have looked at how to do it using LOD but it is not very clear to me. I have also tried to create a specific set selecting them directly from July but it does not work either when I place them in the filter since it becomes a dynamic filter.

Thank you!!

Can you attach a workbook to help you?

Thanks

Pedro,

You can create a calculated field (T|F) as below:

{fixed customer id : max(if month(txndate)=7 then 1 else 0 end)} =1

Put this on filter shelf and choose true. You will get only the customers which have done txn in July. Then you may also put filter for months to show only July onwards data.

Hope this helps.

Hi Pedro,

You can try below logic. It will give you the customer_id whose first purchase was in july.

Flag = ({Fixed [customer id] : max (if month([date])=7 then 1 else 0 end) } =1)
