Just sharing again with the community and to let everyone know that Jim is a Tableau Employee.
Curious about this new control
can you share some examples or ideas
Very curious wath the results are!
That is really nice that you care about users opinion. Hope that this survey will help to make tableau even better.!
- Enter a name that will appear appear above the menu, like Select a View.
- For Data type, select String.
- For Allowable values, select List.
- Under List of values, type All for the first value, and then add values with the name of each view in the dashboard.
Oh yes please!
I took the survey, but:
If a parameter (which already works across data sources and is even available for custom SQL and in plain text boxes) could have the functionality to be automatically updated with values from a field, and this refreshes with extract refreshes, this would add a TON of usefulness in itself. It's a whole new way to connect data sets, or at least control multiple data sets on a dashboard, without having to force them to have a defined relationship.
for the calculation window
a search/replace function.
have 2 drop-down menus.
1st with all the current dimensions, parameters, etc in the calculated field.
2nd a list of all the dimension, measures, calculations, params. OR have a button for each type that shows that type and all fields under this type.
also a basic search and replace function (replace text)...
MUCH NEEDED FOR RAPID DEVELOPMENT!!!
Done! This looks super interesting!
Curious to see the final outcome. I hope this turns out to be positive for tableau.
waiting for the update, do not put any new restrictions or filters in existing system.
Would love to have a button for print preview.
