No changes in 2018.2 should have broken anything in VizAlerts. VizAlerts is running fine on our 2018.2 server as we speak. But please let me know if you have any issues.
Thanks for the info. I was told by Tableau Support, yesterday, that 2018.2 and VizAlerts did not yet work together.
My 2018.2 installation is and has been broken for other reasons, so I haven't been able to test them together
Tableau Support is supposed to tell customers that VizAlerts is not officially supported to Tableau, and direct requests to this group--where you rightly asked your question! I'll reach out and see what their concern is.
Update: Upgrading to 2018.2 changed the allowed port from 80 to 8000, and my Windows Firewall settings are crocked.
How do I change VizAlerts to use a non-default port? I did read the docs, but didn't see "port" mentioned in the install guide. I likely missed it. (VizAlerts has also been stable enough, for long enough, that I have zero recollection of setting it up, although I obviously did.)
I don't know if this will help or not but take a look at this KB article I stumbled across last night: https://community.tableau.com/docs/DOC-6371
Yeah...2018.2 never did install for me after multiple attempts and it messed up my system as well. I had to go back to 2018.1 in QA.
