    Tableau v10

    Scott Woolston

For all you calculation GURU's...I'm not sure if this is possible from what I've seen an read.  I'd like to combine in a single calculation IFNULL and REPLACE with both functions looking at the same parent string?  Pls read on...

Trying to clean up my tableau workbook from the xlsx data source using the following:

      REPLACE([Parent String], 'Substring', "")

THIS LOOKS AT THE PARENT STRING IN THE WORKBOOK ie COLUMN, FINDS THE SPECIFIC TEXT, THEN REPLACES IT WITH A BLANK

      IFNULL([Parent String], "")

THIS LOOKS AT THE PARENT STRING IN THE WORKBOOK AND REPLACES ANY NULL's WITH A BLANK

Ether work as they should alone but prefer not to string calculations to achieve end result.

NOTE: When using + to string the functions in the same calculation the data I want to keep is duplicated (Don't want this).  Is there a function that can point to one parent string and run these two functions to manipulate the substrings and replacements?

      Thanks
