Tableau Server License Work with Latest Version

    Manandeep Singh

      Hi,

Currently we're using tableau server version 10.5 in our environment.

      Issue:-

In the settings, when navigate to license tab, it shows "1" unlicensed user.

      Guest user is disabled.

Why it shows an unlicensed user ? Ref. Attached screen-shot.

      Question:-

Can we use the same 10.5 version license for version "2018.2" or do we need to upgrade/purchase a new license ?

Also, How can we verify the license that we have compatible with what version ?

      Thanks and Regards,

      Manandeep Singh

          Hi Manandeep ,

This can happen when the users own content on Tableau Server and Tableau won't allow you to remove a user without first changing the owner of the content (Workbook, Project, etc...)

Yes you can use the same license although you will need to pay annual maintenance charge to get tableau support periodically

Here are Tableau's new monthly prices: Tableau Desktop Personal, $35; Tableau Desktop Professional, $70 ; Tableau Server, $35; and Tableau Online, $42. Under the old model, a license, with annual maintenance, cost $999 for Desktop Personal and $1,999 for Desktop Professiona
