    Diverging colors in tooltips

    Michaela Dennis

      Hello Tableau Community,

I have created a dual axis histogram that contains projected monthly data and the actual data. On the line with the projects I would like to have the tooltip (which shows the difference between actual and projected) turn red or green based on if we are over or under projection (green for over and red for under). I have tried to do this by creating calculated fields that look something like this:

      IF [Diff]<0 THEN [Diff]

      ELSE NULL

      END

      and

      IF [Diff]>0 THEN [Diff]

      ELSE NULL

      END

I added these to the tooltip thinking that if it was one or the other the one with no data would be hidden however this isn't the case. To get the colors to diverge I merely color coordinated the text. It almost works this way but something is off. Please help! Thank you everyone.
