No Web Data Connector option on Tableau Server Workbook?

    Dietmar Aumann

How do I use my custom web data connector?

I went trough the steps here: Web Data Connectors in Tableau Server

Safe-listed my WDC, verified that it is enabled and restarted my Tableau Server.

Now that is done, how I can I use it as a datasource? I cannot find any documentation on that - only those which are for Tableau Desktop but not for Tableau Server.

          Hi Dietmar,

The Connect to Data on the Web pane from your screenshot can currently connect to the types of data listed there. You'll need to create a new WDC connection via Tableau Desktop, and publish the workbook to Tableau Server. Once it is published, the workbook will use the WDC you published to Tableau Server to access data.

If you would like to be able to create a new WDC connection using the Connect to Data on the Web feature, I'd recommend adding or voting on an Idea on the Ideas forum here:
