# Get Column 'B' Value from the Highest Value Row of a Column 'A'

Hey guys!

I have a huge database and I want to Get Column 'B' Value from the Highest Value Row of a Column 'A'. What I mean is: After getting to know what's the highest value of column "A", I need to get the value of column "B" of this row which has the highest value of column "A".

AB
13
62
46

In this example I should find 6 is the max value for column A, then get its column B value "2" so I can use that value in other calculations and so forth. How can I do that?

• ###### 1. Re: Get Column 'B' Value from the Highest Value Row of a Column 'A'

{FIXED:MAX(IF {FIXED : MAX(A)}=A THEN B END)}

• ###### 2. Re: Get Column 'B' Value from the Highest Value Row of a Column 'A'

Hi Arthur

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Shin

Hey Deepak! thanks for the answer!

I'll try that! What does a Fixed without a first dimension means? Like, where it's supposed to be a dimension to be fixed, there's nothing, then after the ':', you used the max function. Can you tell me how to read it? What it means?

Thanks!

{FIXED:MAX(IF {FIXED : MAX(A)}=A THEN B END)}

This is The Result

I used Nested LODs, So First You Will Find Maximum Value of A from Entire Data set Using INNER LOD  and Then Fix the Value of B got from It using Outer LOD.

Thanks

Deepak

Thanks guys! That's actually it I think! Giving Shinichiro Murakami the "correct answer" credit just 'cause he sent it first. But thank you, both of you!
