# How to plot the number of online attendee in Tableau?

I have following data source for a webinar:

 customer Start time End time 10001 6/19/2018 14:00 6/19/2018 14:05 10002 6/19/2018 14:00 6/19/2018 14:47 10003 6/19/2018 14:00 6/19/2018 15:00 10004 6/19/2018 14:00 6/19/2018 15:00 10005 6/19/2018 14:00 6/19/2018 14:15 10001 6/19/2018 14:07 6/19/2018 14:10 10002 6/19/2018 14:49 6/19/2018 15:00 10005 6/19/2018 14:15 6/19/2018 14:50 10001 6/19/2018 14:30 6/19/2018 15:00 10005 6/19/2018 14:51 6/19/2018 15:00

During the webinar, I can observe that some audience can drop off and join back.

I want to plot a line chart showing the number of audiences for each 5 mins.

Similar like the chart I found online below:

Seems I need to count distinct customer for each 5 mins time range.

Can someone direct me how should I start?

Thank you,

James

HI James,

Not sure about flexibility of connection, but in general, here is an example of this case.

From edit data source => pivot

convert datetime to minutes

Time passed by 5 mins.

Thanks,

Shin

Thank you very much Shinichiro,

That really solve the problem, thanks for your elegant work.

One thing found in your screen shot is that there is step to convert the "Pivot field value" from data/time to number type.

Hi Shin,

I do want to extend it a little bit.

How do I plot the percentage of the live attendee instead of the really number?

e.g: In the work book you provided, instead of plotting 4, 5, 4, 4...I want to plot 80%, 100%, 80%, 80%

I tried use the function  [count]/countd([costumer]), seems the aggregate function doesn't work that way.

Then I tried, rolling_sum (count) / countd([costumer]), doesn't work either.

Thank you very much in advance,

James
