# Multiple values in a tooltip instead of an asterisk

Hi peaople fo the Tab;eau community,

I need your help. Just for fun I am creating stats dashboard of the FIFA WorId Cup.  put all host countries on the map and I would like the tooltip to show who won and which year the cup took place in that country. And it works fine if the country was hosting the cup only once, but Mexico, France and Italy have multiple entries so I get an asterisk.

I know there is a way to display a list of values rather than asterisk, but I do not know how to do it. I tried some suggestions to similar problem but could not make it to work. So any help will be much appreciated (and if you are into football I will support your team for the rest of tournament :))

Thanks

Mike

• ###### 1. Re: Multiple values in a tooltip instead of an asterisk

Hi Mike,

##### Step 1: Create the Calculations
1. Create a calculated field with a name like "Filtered Containers Feeder" with a calculation similar to the following:
`IF FIRST()= 0THEN MIN([Container])ELSEIF MIN([Container]) != LOOKUP( MIN([Container]), -1 )THEN PREVIOUS_VALUE("") + ", " + MIN([Container])ELSE PREVIOUS_VALUE("")END`
2. Create a calculated field with a name like "Filtered Containers for Tooltip" with a calculation similar to the following:
`IF LAST() = 0THEN [Filtered Containers Feeder]END`

Edit calculated fields in the attached workbook for additional notes about how these calculations work.
##### Step 2: Create the View
1. Drag [Department] to the Rows shelf
2. Drag [Sales] to the Columns shelf
3. Drag [Container] to Color on the marks card
Note: [Container] must be included in the view for the calculations to work correctly. If the final view should not include the dimension being listed in the tooltip, see the "Adv Option 1" tab for additional instructions
4. Drag [Filtered Containers for Tooltip] to Tooltip on the marks card
5. Right-click [Filtered Containers for Tooltip] on Tooltip and select Compute Using > Container

Note: If additional dimensions are added to the view, then it may be necessary to update the Compute Using setting. For detailed explanation of how to control the output of a table function with Compute Using settings, please see

#### Cause

Dimensions are added to the tooltip using the ATTR aggregation. The asterisk is actually a visual indicator of a special type of Null value that occurs when there are multiple members that apply to the mark.
