But same day open, the data disagree with your guidance.

Here's another way to go: to avoid pivoting, create a calculated field to assign an Event CD:
You can then use this in your calculations. Create a calculated field using LOD expressions to determine if it occurred the same day the email was delivered:
I created a simple sheet that allows you to view unique count of IDs by Event and unique count of IDs by Event that were delivered earlier in the day. Hope this at least helps!
