    Hanane Ouhammouch

      Hello folks,

I have a question about tableau filter ,

is their any way to only select the line who respect all the value of the filter

      for example:

My filter is graph 2 and i want to display  the customer  who have orders associated to all this sub categorys.

if a customer is associated to one subcategory (exp : bookcases) hi can not be displayed .

      Thank you for your help

          hi Hanane,

Sorry (I'm sure it's me!) but I don't understand the exact behavior you are after?

If you click on a Sub-Category in Chart 2, do you want to see all the customers who have purchased from that subcategory? If you can give me a bit more detail, I'll take a look.

            Hi Simon ,

            Thank you for your help

            Sorry , let me  explain:

what i want is : if i select the 4  sub-categorys , only the users with this  sub-categorys  appeard  (  in my case only  'Adam shillingsburg' need to be displayed)

in other way i want to select users who have sub-category= bookcases  and   sub-category= Chairs  ,...

But in this case what i have is the selection of users who have sub-category= bookcases  or sub-category= Chairs  ,...

            Thanks

Yup I understand that...thanks for the clarification.

              I think I've got a solution...but it is a little complicated!!

So first I created a FIXED LoD to work out how many SubCats each person had bought from

              [Ordered SubCats per Customer]

              {FIXED [Customer Name]: COUNTD([Sub-Category])}

Now as FIXED LoDs are computed before any regular filters are applied, we need to bump any filters we need up the calculation pipeline by making them "context" filters. We can also do this for actions (when an action is triggered it creates a set filter in the target sheet, which we can change to be context).

Next we need to know how many sub-cats have been selected...

              [SubCats Selected]

              WINDOW_MAX(COUNTD([Sub-Category]))

by using a WINDOW_MAX we can work out the Max of anyone.

finally we can use these 2 in a filter

              [Keep Customer AND]

              [SubCats Selected]

              =

              SUM([Ordered SubCats per Customer])

Check a few, but I think this does the job. I've also left the 2 new calculations in the customer table so you can see what they are doing.

              Hope that makes (some) sense?
