To clarify an incorrect statement above, it appears that what's happening is that these errors are occurring for all 13 workbooks in my test, but they appear intermittently. The error rate of these tests was 0% in 10.3.3; in 2018.1, it wavers between 25-40%. It seems all my workbooks are intermittently affected.
I'm afraid to have the same issue Grant.
Same error message, same TabJolt version & same Tableau server version.
Each sheet works independently, but not the dashboard.
Help please !
(Is it the right place to talk about TabJolt by the way ?)
Recently I worked with TabJolt engineers internally. They gave me an internal beta build of a new version of TabJolt that resolved these issues. There should be a new version of TabJolt on GitHub soon, though I can’t speak for the engineers’ intended release dates. However, rest assured that the root causes were identified and fixed via an updated build that’s in the pipeline. Keep an eye out for it on GitHub.
Great news Grant!
Thanks a lot for your update.
Was about to install this to test against a 2018.1.3 server. This should work fine, right? Your issue was specific to a Google doc source within a referenced workbook?
I don’t recall a Google Doc data source specifically. This error could occur with any data source. Best to give it a try and see whether you’re affected or not. I think a new TabJolt version will be release soon.
We are in need for the tabjolt for testing 2018.1.
What is the process as to how can we get access to the beta version of tabjolt ?
Do you know if this issue has been resolved and the new version is available? I continue to have issues with v2018.1.
As Grant mentioned, this issue is related to changes to the presmodel that occurred in the 2018.1 release of Tableau Server and affects a subset of vizzes. The team has fixed this issue for our internal versions of Tabjolt and is hard at work on finishing an update including these fixes, better support for collection of metrics on Linux, support for TSM, and the ability to test web authoring scenarios. The update will support versions of Tableau Server up through the 2018.3. We don't yet have a firm release date but hope to have this published to GitHub relatively soon.
