The backbone of Tableau Server is the customized Postgres database it ships with where it stores quite a bit of information about workbooks, users, data sources, etc. The Administrative views need to query this Postgres database to be able to produce the views so in this case it's more than likely you need to install the Postgres driver

Mr. Mark - Postgres driver is packaged with Tableau Server Windows versions, is it not with Linux?

At least currently it's not. It took me a bit to track it down but we do have a KB article that mentions this as well
