Create a calculation that Ignore Filters

    Helio Martins

      Hello all,

I have have been trying to solve a dilemma in tableau so far by my self but unfortunately, I haven't succeeded so far.

I created a workbook to facilitate the understanding. What I need is to do a calculation using the sum of all the values of sales above the goal (sheet 1) divide to Total of Ship Mode (ship 2).

It is important that whenever I select one type in Ship Mode (sheet 1) it will refresh the result in sheet 1 however it will use always the same Total of Ship Mode according to the selected filters (State, Sub-Category, and Order Date) that are used in all sheets that use the Data Source.

I appreciate any help in solving that.

Not certain what you need but see the attached

          there are 3 calcualtions

first the fixed total above goal

then the fixed by ship mode

then the fixed by ship mode and state

in text form they return this (could be any form of chart

            Thank you Jim,

We are almost there. I was not very clear in my question.

What I need to do is the following:

Whenever I select a "Ship Mode" filter

Take each value of Sales above the selected Goal - Goal

Then sum the difference of each all sales values against goal (for instance=5,087) according to all filters.

The final step would be divided SUM of the difference the values above the goal by Total of Ship Mode ( all ship mode selected according to the Order Date, State, and Sub-Category).

            Thank you

              try this

              2 formulas

              this is the point

              and this is the total

              it returns this

              Jim
