Default selection in quick filter based off a parameter?

    Mark Fagan

Is it possible for a User to select a value in a parameter and then that one value populates into a quick filter?  Then from there the User can make additional selections from the quick filter?

For example, the Parameter of course allows you to select one value so the User selects "East"

Since "East" was selected in the Parameter, I want this selection to populate a quick filter that drives an additional worksheet on the dashboard but then I want to select "North" and "West" from the quick filter.

Thanks for any guidance if this is even possible.

          Hi Mark

          see the attached

since parameters are global - affect the entire workbook you can use a parameter in a variety of ways on different worksheets and must be used in calculated fields -If this posts assists in resolving the question, please mark it helpful or as the 'correct answer' if it resolves the question. on the first sheet the parameter is tied to a filter like this

on the second sheet this filter

          will return this

You can use the parameter in any form of calculation, LOD or Table calculation and they will update when the user changes the parameter
