We just upgraded our server and desktops to 10.5, our desktops are 10.5.3 and some of us are getting the IPC_NamedPipe::Select(WaitForMultipleObjects): Timeout Unable to connect to the server error when trying to create an extract with our Hadoop data. Not everyone on my team is getting this error. I made sure we had the same version of the Cloudera ODBC driver and the same version of Tableau Desktop but I am still getting the error. If I don't create an extract and leave it as a live connection it works fine. I made a local copy of a published extract and tried to refresh it and got the error.
I did see others have had the same error on Oracle and MS Access and the solution was to get an updated version of the drivers. I tried that with my Cloudera driver but that made no difference.
Is anyone getting this error on your environment and have a solution or fix?
I suggest please raise a ticket with tableau support.
