Creating a 'Count' dimension that counts number of occurrences of a field

Suppose you have a customer field that has a new row each time that customer interacts with us. For example:

      Customer

      A

      A

      A

      A

      B

      B

      C

      D

      D

Based on the above data (with 9 rows), I want to create the following view:

      X:                             1     2     3     4

      Calculated field:       1     2     0     1

The calculated field is the number of customers that have had X interactions.

      Can Tableau do this?
