Tableau Desktop does have the ability to leverage the R language! I am going to include several links to various resources for learning and using R in Tableau Desktop.
First, one of the best resources, is Bora Berans blog on using R in Tableau: Statistical testing in Tableau with R | Bora Beran
Next are several additional resources on using R and statistical analysis in Tableau.
Hope this helps!
I have tried the Bora Beran's blog. The problem is the dashboards are in 8.1 version and when I try to open it , it throws bunch of warnings. Like the versions will be upgraded, some data will be lost. Basically when i open the dashboard has bunch of errors in the field and the data set is missing.
Is there a way to open these files correctly?
The workbook should open in the latest version of Tableau Desktop without any issue. The warning messages are still going to appear for the presence of external scripts, which is expected, select Yes. Then for the workbook being upgraded, again, select Yes to continue.
After passing these two warning messages the workbook should open.
