You can cobble your own solution together using tabcmd and hackery, or you can save yourself some time and just use https://powertoolsfortableau.com/tools/deployment/ . That's the best solution that I've found for this problem, at the moment.
I tried to migrate Data Sources and Workbook from UAT to Prod. But moving one object at a time seems lengthy process.
Is it possible to migrate entire project at a time so all object within project get migrated along with project.
Hi Saket, there's an open source tool called TabMigrate. I haven't tried it yet, so if you try it, please let me know how it works for you.
TabMigrate works well when moving content of the same Tableau Software version. I tried pushing a 10.3.1 site to a 10.5.0 Tableau Server and got the same error multiple times:
The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request.
However, when copying from 10.3.1 to 10.3.5 it was okay.
I downloaded TabMigrate from GitHub and tired to migrate just Data Sources from Projects and it worked well. We are migrating Data Sources from Tableau 10.5 to Tableau 10.5.
I am having issues logging into TabMigrate, in the same way as this user: TABMIGRATE login failed
Do you have any advice on how to work around this please?
We are using OKTA as a single sign on as we are embedding tableau charts into an external facing application.
Any advice would be great as it seems other people have this issue but no obvious solution.
Yes, i have found a solution to that login issue
