# Change vs Previous Period

Hi,

I've got a problem with calculation for Change vs previous period. In attached workbook I've calculated count(id) for each month. Then in other column I need to calculate change vs previous period like: Change = (Current Period – Previous Period) / Previous Period

So If I choose for example '2017-December' it should calculate Change =  (8 - 3) / 3 = 1.66 * 100 = 166%

where 8 = value for 2017-December, 3 = value for 2017-November

I've tried to find similar topic but all which I've found are related to table calculation but here I need to get previous month value on "fly"

Can anyone help me on that?

Thank you for this solution. It works almost perfect. I've got only one problem with "Total" calculated by Tableau

Do you know if its possible to fix it?

Hi Lukasz,

G.total and table calculation combination is really complex topic.

I am not sure there is a solution or not immediately.

I recommend that you close this thread and post new one with clear data set and clear expectations.
