Tableau Desktop uses US standards for week numbers. The ability to format dates according to the ISO 8601 standard is not functionality currently built into Tableau Desktop.
As a workaround, could you please use calculated fields to convert week numbering to the ISO 8601 standard?
Please note that the following instructions are based on sample data and can be reviewed in the workbook attached below.
For more information about ISO 8601, see the following information:
- Week in, week out, Tableau in the Clear and Simply blog.
- ISO 8601 definition from Wikipedia.

So according to US weeknums there is no Week1 or what?? This is simply ridiculous from Tableau.
Dear Tableau , Please consider this as a big and fix this in the next version's release.

Yeah, I just added my comment. How are we supposed to show the dashboards to the business with this bugs. In our project most of the analysis would be made on weekly basis. My director is not able to believe that tableau has not fixed this major bug. I hope tableau people are looking at it.
I am very sorry this is causing you a lot of troubles. Your feedback is very valuable to us.
At the moment this is working as intended for the US Standards, we are looking at other options as described in the quoted Idea.
