Yes, you can use a regular expression to create a calculated field to use as a filter that looks for any model with 4 numeric characters after the hyphen (or just characters, depending on how specific you want to be). Is that what you are trying to do?
They have a bit of a learning curve, but can be very powerful when wanting to parse text for specific formatting, phrases, numbers, lengths, lots of things.
Or if you don't want to get that fancy and your model codes are pretty standard, you could create a calculated field to use as a filter that identifies any model where the text is greater than 7 characters long.
If len([Model]) > 7 then '4 digit model' else 'Not 4 digit model' end
Thanks for the quick reply! I will start researching and let you know how I do. Part of my issue is, we have years of bad data entry, but I am hopeful to overcome the small roadblock!
