    Parameter based results on 360 degree calculations?

    Noah Cowles

      That's a wordy title...I'm trying to figure out a way to display a list of operations associated with welding big steel rings. Certain operations can only be conducted when the ring is in a certain roll position. I'd like to be able to have a user enter the roll position which then returns a list of all operations that can be completed in that roll position. Positions range from 0-359 degrees. The items that is difficult to reconcile is that if an item can be accessed between 315 & 45 degrees (90 degree window - not 270 degree window. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

          Noah,

          You could try explicitly spelling out the possibilities:

          IF [Min Roll]<[Max Roll] THEN

              IF [Select Roll Position]>=[Min Roll]

              AND [Select Roll Position]<=[Max Roll]

              THEN "Can be completed a"

              ELSE "Cannot be completed"

              END

          ELSEIF [Min Roll]>[Max Roll] THEN

              IF [Select Roll Position]>=[Min Roll]

              THEN "Can be completed b"

              ELSEIF [Select Roll Position]<=[Max Roll]

              THEN "Can be completed c"

              ELSE "Cannot be completed"

              END

          END

          Note: All conditions here are set using >= or <=

          Wasn't sure if a 90 roll position was supposed to trigger on

          both 0-90 and 90-180.
