The problem I am running into is in regards to a line chart utilizing two different tableau data sources linked together to display a calculated rate throughout the year. Here's where it gets weird... If I change from a line mark to circles Tableau is removing a portion of the calculated rate data (in the denominator). It appears as if by changing the viz (mark type) somehow filters out data. Has anyone else run across this before, and was there a solution to the problem? I'm at a loss to understand how changing the mark type would change/filter the data behind the calculation. And to reiterate, the original line chart contains the correct rate.
Due to the proprietary data contained within, I can't easily post a sample workbook.
I don't think changing the mark type would cause the filter to change, I'd say it's more likely the data is being hidden by overlapping marks. With that being said, it's pretty tough to answer without being able to replicate.
