I have also tried appending below to the URL. But every time, a new URL action opens in the same tab opened during the first action
Any help would really be appreciated as my users want to open multiple dashboards in different tabs using the index dashboard.
You also need to have &:linktarget=_self in the first link (the one that directs you to that viz)
Thank you Niel for your prompt reply.
I suppose, &:linktarget=_self will open a URL in same tab. However, I want each of my URL actions to open in a new tab.
I have attached a sample structure of my project solution.
The Landing Page is a dashboard that my users access on Tableau server. Landing Page has links to other dashboards, say Dashboard1 and Dashboard2
Step 1: User accesses Landing Page Dashboard on Tableau server
Step 2: User clicks on URL1 to open Dashboard1.
Resultant Action: Dashboard1 opens in new Tab
Step 3: User goes back to Landing Page Dashboard
Step 4: User clicks on URL2 to open Dashboard2
Resultant Action: Dashboard2 opens in same tab where Dashboard1 had opened earlier.
This is something I want to avoid. I want Dashboard2 to be opened in a blank tab so that both dashboards, 1 and 2 are open in different tabs.

I have tried to get the action you are describing to work many times before and I was never able to do it. Everytime Dashboard 1 or 2 is opened it opens on the same new tab!
I think there is an idea floating around to suggest a fix to this
Thanks for sharing your experience.
No doubt, users are annoyed to see URLs opening in the same tab always. I hope a fix is found for this soon.
