I'm having the same issue. I've put in a Support ticket, but still no help. Any help on this issue would be very much appreciated!
Thanks for responding, My support ticket is with Tableau
May I ask how this was resolved ?
I am receiving the same error message but with Tableau Public Desktop
A dialog box pops up titled "Tableau" with the message "Unexpected Error".
Clicking on the "Show Details" button inside the dialog box gives the message ...
Can not connect to Tableau server. Please check the server name and port and try again. Signature of the certificate is invalid
I can login via the browser by following File -> Manage My Profile with no issue.
Similarly, the issue started recently, it was working previously.
Tableau version 10.5 on Windows 10.
The issue is resolved now , it appears some of our internal network policy was causing the issue with tableau desktop not able to connect to tableau online. But the tableau online was working ok. Please ask your network team if the traffic from the machine goes ok and also make sure the user has a correct proxy settings ?
Can you do the below as a first step of troubleshooting please ?
1. Ensure that there is only one instance of Tableau Desktop open on your computer - If there are other instances of Tableau Desktop open, close them.
2. In Tableau Desktop, select Help > Settings and Performance > Clear Saved Server Sign-ins
