# Top 10 overall and per category at the same graph

I've been looking for an answer to this but can't find one.

Is it now possible to have the top 10 overall and per category at the same graph?

What is you graph going to look like?

Here you have top10s per category and the black bars indicate overall top 10:

Another variation on a theme --

using the UNIONed datasource

to have a distinct '(Total)' dim value.

Besides, both [Customer Name] and [Category] are used

to avoid a 1:1 (Hierarchy) relation between the dimensions.

Please find the attached (version 10.0) workbook.

Right Yuri.

But I would like Josephine to show us what she expects the graph should look like and share a sample twbx if possible. What I proposed is just a guess

Hi,

Thank you for taking time on this.

What I need is to show the top 10 overall as default. Then whenever they select a region, the top ten for a region would show.

Hi Josephine,

Firstly create a calculated field and convert it to discrete

Next, drop this between Region and State fields

Next, edit your table calculation to compute using Pane (down)

Next, drop the rank pill onto your filter area and select the top 10

Then you can remove the region pill and re-add it as a filter (shown converted to single select)

Now whichever region you select will be top 10 - Example in 10.3 attached
