# To usercount based on user availabilty as 1 day 3 day 5 day etc.

How do i calculate the usercount based on 1 +, 3+, 5+ factors in tableau.

HI Nawnath.

I'm afraid your question is too vague for you to get any suitable answer.  Please post a packaged workbook and provide more details as to what your data looks like and what you're trying to achieve.

Donna

Hi,

You can try below  approach:

1. create variable count  of days : { FIXED [User] : COUNT([Number of Records])}

2. create a measure with calculation :

if [Calculation1] >= 5 then '5+'

elseif [Calculation1] >=3 then '3+'

elseif [Calculation1] >=1 then '1+'

END

Hi Nawanth,

As Donna said that your question is quite difficult to understand. But I went through the dataset and could find that the total number of distinct users that you have is 1025.

Then by plotting the same in Tableau gave me the following:

- Users occurring 1 or more times are 1025

- Users occurring 2 or more times are 728

- Users occurring 3 or more times are 604

I created 2 calculated fields

- Count of distinct Users COUNTD([User])

- User Frequency COUNTD([Date Time])

After creating this I pulled the same calculated fields into the visualization and created a filter on the User Frequency Calculated field.

If you see the grand total section, it gives the same output as you asked:

I have included a filter AGG(User Frequency) where if you change the slider then you would get the values for 2 or more and 3 or more conditions.

I have attached the .twbx file of the same.

Kind Regards

Hi Nawanth,

This could be achieved as meenu choudhary told in the beginning of the post.

I have created a calculated field named "User Frequency Filter" and have applied the same in the sheet.

I have attached the sheet for your reference.

Hi Nawnath,

For the specific requirement that you had I had to create a Parameter and a calculated field that would drive the data from the parameter.

Please see below the screenshot of the tableau workbook:

I have attached the .twbx file of the same.

Kind Regards
