Thanks for that and indeed it works. But man that is a lot of hoops to jump through. We could end up creating dozens of custom views that would only be used once or twice.
If Tableau is listening, please just allow us to click the Share button and have it send whatever we're looking at at the moment of clicking. We don't need a Share button to send the URL that is already in our browser, we can copy and paste that.

Yes , there are few clicks involved. But That is only way , i know.
There are probably several ways.
One option is to set those filters prior to publishing -- whatever state the dashboard is in when published (filters, etc.) will be what the user opens up in the initial view on Server.
Another option is to use Custom Views, which you can name and share with others: Subscribing to Custom Views | Tableau Software
