    Manveen Dharni

      Hi,

I am trying to create a Herd travel chart and text table. I want to be able to show the employees traveling in groups as well as, there total amount and count of employees.

Please see the attached workbook with data.

      Thanks

Because you uploaded the TWB file there is no data at all.  Can you please create a TWBX (Packaged Workbook) or upload the XLS file ?

          Cheers

              Hi, Manveen

How did you know from your data, employees are travel as group?

Employees traveling on the same date under the same manager would be a group of employees.

                Thanks

Is it also possible to get count and total if the travel date of employees was within 2 days travel date range.

for example, getting total of employees and amount if the employee traveled 1/1/2017 and 1/2/2017 under the same manager.

                      Hi, Manveen

from you sample data, I didn't find any employee having more than 1 day of traveling date. can you mock up another data?

                        Hi Zhouyi,

What I mean for +/- 3 days is if manager has employees traveling within 3 days they need to be grouped together.

                        For example:

                        Date             Manager          Employees     Cost

                        2017/1/1      Nancy Gray      2                    294

                        2017/1/2      Nancy Gray      5                    896

                        2017/1/3      Nancy Gray      3                    716

Since she has employees traveling within 3 days, they need to be grouped into one.

                        Thanks

                          Hi, Manveen

                          Thanks for your example.

However, I still confused with your data.

Take below as example, could you please let me know how to group it for manager Debra Adams, Jeremy Butler?

I don't know the logic of how to group 2017/1/2 under Jeremy Butler together with the group of 2017/1/1, 2017/1/2, 2017/1/3 or group of 2017/1/2, 2017/1/3, 2017/1/4.

                          can you explain that?

                            Zhouyi,

End result should look like below:

                            Manager           Employees          Total

                            Debra                4                         827       (employees traveling date 1/2/2017 - 1/3/2017)

                            Jeremy              9                         2646     (employees traveling date 1/1/2017 - 1/3/2017)

                            Nancy               10                       2006      (employees traveling date 1/1/2017 - 1/3/2017)

As the data continues and lets say Jeremy, Debra, and Nancy have employees traveling within the next 3 days (2 or more employees), they would be considered a herd.

                              Zhouyi,

I was wondering if you had a chance to understand what I meant for:

                              Manager           Employees          Total

                              Debra                4                         827       (employees traveling date 1/2/2017 - 1/3/2017)

                              Jeremy              9                         2646     (employees traveling date 1/1/2017 - 1/3/2017)

                              Nancy               10                       2006      (employees traveling date 1/1/2017 - 1/3/2017)

                              Thanks,

                                Hi, Manveen

Please find the attached workbook with my solution. Sorry about the late

                                below is the result

                                Hope this could help

One more thing, if I loaded the sheet in the dashboard, is it possible to create an action button to export to CSV and pdf?

                                  Thanks,

                                    Hi, Manveen

You don't have to put it in the dashboard to export to CSV/PDF.

I am not sure whether your workbook will be published to server or just desktop, if publish to server, you can use tabcmd to export csv/pdf.

One thing that Dashboard doesn't support CSV download.
