If it's not available now then it can't be done now. Only the product leaders have an idea of when something may come out.
Tableau Server support local (internal), SAML which is Trusted authentication – but no LDAP out of the box. However, most of the SAML IdPs supports LDAP so by adding an SAML server to your infrastructure you can delegate Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server authentication to your LDAP via SAML IdP. SAML even allows you to design your own login screen.
I hope this helps you,
I am Aware of SAML2.0and We already Configured SAML and its working fine, but the Problem is , The userID has to be initially created in Tableau Identity store, to match the SAML Attribute(LDAP Attribute), also I read The Attribute in Tableau is case sensitive. Which makes things Complicated as We have 20,000 users where we want them to be in different groups if it was LDAP it would have been easy to sync users and groups.
We Tried to Leverage AD+ SAML, but AD and LDAP some times doest match in our case and also we have Multiple AD , for Different Countries around the World (Eg : 123.xxx.com ,1234.xx.uk , 12345.eame.com ,12345.pafe.com etc....). But all the users from these Domains have one commen LDAP USERID .
HMMM, let's wait for other comments. somebody might come up with a good approach.
