    Radar Chart (4 Measures & 1 Dimension) ???

    Sumeet Bedekar

      Hi Tableau Lovers,

I have data with 4 measures and one dimension as follows,

      1.PNG

          Copy Table here :-

      BrandAd AwarenessWOMBuzzPurchase Intent
      A34.734.134.320.4
      B22222124
      C28202426
      D23202120
      E28222427
      F24232228

And I am looking for the way to create Radar Chart (Expected View)

      Expected.PNG

      4 Corners = 4 Measures

      and Lines = Brand (A, B, C... etc)

Please let me know the way to get it done.

      Regards,

      Sumeet

      Second Edit :-

I have created pivot of 4 Measures.

and wrote calculation for X and Y as follows-

      X

      case [Pivot Field Names]

when "Ad Awareness" then [Pivot Field Values] *(1/2)

when "Buzz" then [Pivot Field Values] *(sqrt(3)/2)

when "Purchase Intent" then [Pivot Field Values] *(-1/2)

when "WOM" then [Pivot Field Values] *(-sqrt(3)/2)

      END

      Y

      case [Pivot Field Names]

when "Ad Awareness" then [Pivot Field Values]*(sqrt(3)/2)

when "Buzz" then ([Pivot Field Values])*(-1/2)

when "Purchase Intent" then [Pivot Field Values]*(-sqrt(3)/2)

when "WOM" then [Pivot Field Values]*(1/2)

      end

      3.PNG

This is somewhat closer to what I want, whereas still not able to achieve the pic which I have pasted above.

      Looking for Answer.

      Thanks

      Third Edit :-

To get square view, I have updated X and Y as followed

      X

      case [Pivot Field Names]

when "Ad Awareness" then [Pivot Field Values] *(1)

when "Buzz" then [Pivot Field Values] *(0)

when "Purchase Intent" then [Pivot Field Values] *(-1)

when "WOM" then [Pivot Field Values] *(0)

      END

      Y

      case [Pivot Field Names]

when "Ad Awareness" then [Pivot Field Values]*(0)

when "Buzz" then ([Pivot Field Values])*(-1)

when "Purchase Intent" then [Pivot Field Values]*(0)

when "WOM" then [Pivot Field Values]*(1)

      end

      4.PNG

Now I am just a step behind to achieve it. Its looking fine. Problem is first end and last end are not connected.

How do I connect them . Plz help.

      Fourth Edit:-

I am almost their, Kindly have a look.

I was not able to connect lines.

for that I tries two different things.

      1) I changed Mark type to Polygon and kept Opacity to 60 %. This gave me nice radar chart.

(Please note that, I used dual axis with mark type as circle only for labels)

      5.PNG

      2) Above, I have mentioned that, I am looking for Line.

In below snap, I used one trick, I changed opacity of Polygon to 0 %. Then I changed mark type of second axis to Line and got the below view,

(Please see, lines are connected but they are not colored :)

      6.PNG

Please let me know, if you have any other workaround.

      Thanks,
