When one user tries to publish a live data connection to Server there is a warning next to the 'publish' button which says:
Tableau Server will temporarily access the credentials provided for ‘[DBASE]’ to confirm it can maintain a live data connection
This fails in our implementation as the server is not in the same zone, we normally just publish these connections and then go in and correct the connection strings.. but for this workbook the user is unable to publish because it fails to validate.
Strange things is that other users can publish in this way without the warning. Can someone help me understand why this warning message occurs?
Does this happen if you change the authentication to embedded password? Either way, this likely needs a support case as our technicians may need to see logs to tell the difference between a successful and unsuccessful publishing attempt on the back-end.
